The Minster Centre
The Minster Centre
The Cathedral Chapter owns a nineteenth-century three-story building, which lies to the north-west of the Minster, flanked by the churchyard. This was built in 1820 as the Collegiate Grammar School with a Schoolmaster’s house. It remained the Minster School until 1964 and since then had been let as offices. In 1996 a Refectory and Shop were built nearby, and an audio-visual theatre and an exhibition of Minster life were developed within the old schoolroom. The main building is now a resource and education centre, with offices for the Minster on the
ground floor and commercial lettings on the first floor.
